Math/Science/Social Studies
Math is taught a little differently today than it was in the past. We use a lot of hands-on methods. The math series we use cycles, so your child will be doing skills repeatedly throughout the year. It’s a wonderful way to make sure children truly understand the concepts! Grades will be taken on tests. The math work we do in class is practice to learn the skills.
Science is also done with what I call “messy science.” The students LOVE doing this hands-on learning as well; the children are truly engaged in it in every way.
Social Studies involves learning about communities.
Our main focus in third grade is math and reading. That means we spend most of our day working on those subjects.
